A CLASSIFIED REPORT FROM THE FRONTLINES OF FAITH
I don’t know if you are familiar with the end result of being “spiritually stubborn” in life. Usually being stubborn has a negative connotation, and it describes someone moving forward in a course of action, even though they know they may face a bad consequence.
However, to be “Spiritually Stubborn” in the Muslim restricted country of Pakistan means that, while you know the result of your decision to follow Jesus through the Seventh-day Adventist Message will be DEATH – you still choose to accept Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life, despite the consequences.
CPL and its Mission Partners’ provision of financial support under such challenging circumstances has brought powerful results that are hard to measure in this world. For example, for more than a quarter of a century, the SDA Church has been “studying” how to print needed materials for persecuted SDA Christians in the country of Pakistan.
SDA materials printed in the local language are making a huge impact on hopeless lives. Our Mission Partners’ contributions have also brought the financial element that was needed for the “suicide mission” of establishing underground Seventh-day Adventist congregations.
Also, their kindness in sharing from what God had given, was a meaningful demonstration of love and care for widows whose husbands and children were executed because of their new Christian faith.
After almost 40 years of ministry, with more than half of those years spent in challenging places where Religious Freedom is so restricted, I still wonder what motivates people to follow Jesus in Pakistan, especially when they have to pay such a cost!
One believer who was helped, even under the most intense persecution told us, “My house has been burned, my belongings were taken away, and my Christian father was murdered by the Muslim mob. BUT my belief in Jesus and what HE teaches can never be taken away, because that lives inside my soul and will stay with me even after my death.”
