Changing Peoples Lives

The Meaning of a Pair of Shoes While Working in Ministry in the Last Communist Country of the Western Hemisphere!

You must forgive me, but I spend most of my time in communist countries where a pair of shoes is literally a gift from above, and where the brand doesn’t matter, the color is the least considered requirement, and where even the size matters very little.

In addition to sponsoring the salaries of Native Lay Missionaries and establishing Home Church in Cuba, much needed Motorcycles were also donated to each pastor within the mission through the support of CPL Mission Partners like you to the entire Ministerial and Native Lay Missionary workforces.

Your contribution makes it possible for each one of the remaining Pastors and Native Lay Missionaries at the Villa Perla Mission to have a new pair of shoes and is literally an answer to the prayers of those spiritual heroes.  I was so moved by the words from the Mission President, who, upon holding a pair of brand-new shoes, exclaimed while looking to the sky: “GOD, whoever is the ‘gringo’ that sent me the only pair of shoes I now have, please send him a dozen more!” And then with tears he hugged me like he had just received a million dollars.

Dear Mission Partners, your out of this world donations even provide a brand new pair of shoes to each one of those missionaries’ spouses. I always feel privileged to witness first-hand how God’s love is manifested through your unique way of changing people’s lives for eternity within the challenging communist countries of the world!

CPL International brought one of the most meaningful presents to Native Lay Pastors in the communist country of Cuba by providing urgently needed ZAPATOS during one of the most challenging crises in the history of the communist country of Cuba.

Pastor Joeldrys Torres, President of the Villa Perla Mission, was extremely blessed since he was one of the pastors in the central section of the communist country of Cuba who had only one pair of broken shoes. He was seriously considering leaving Cuba because of the desperate need for food and shoes. MUCHAS GRACIAS, for making it possible for this President to stay in Cuba.

Cuba is currently experiencing the worst crisis in its more than 65 years of communism with the possibility of a total collapse of their system which has forced more than 200,000 people to leave the island over the last 15 months, including more than half of the Seventh-day Adventist pastors and Native Lay Missionaries.

In a moment like the present one, your support is critical to keeping faith alive in those who are desperately looking for a source of hope and something to hold on to. CPL International is fully committed to remaining inside Cuba, providing the tools needed to keep our community of believers growing, not knowing for how long we can take advantage of these “circumstantial opportunities.”
